Michael Solomonov

Michael is the executive chef/co-owner at Zahav, a modern Israeli restaurant that brings the authentic flavors of Israel to Philadelphia. Accolades include: • 2017 James Beard Foundation Award winner for Outstanding Chef • 2016 James Beard Award winner for Best International Cookbook and Book of the Year (Zahav) • 2012 called by Food & Wine one of the country’s top “Empire Builders” for his devotion “to reinventing overlooked cuisines” • 2014 Eater National Chef of the Year • 2011 James Beard Foundation Award winner for Best Chef, Mid-Atlantic.

Together, Michael Solomonov and Steven Cook wrote Israeli Soul, Federal Donuts, and Zahav. In 2016, Zahav won Best International Cookbook and Book of the Year.
