Ingredients
- 2 avocados
- 1 Roma tomato, seeds removed and diced
- 1/2 white onion, diced
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 jalapeno, seeds removed and finely chopped (optional)
- 1/4 - 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
- Juice of 1/2 orange
Steps
Step 1
Scoop out and mash avocado with large fork to your preference of smoothness. Season with garlic salt and black pepper, to taste. Add white onions, orange juice and chopped tomatoes and stir to combine well.
Step 2
Top with jalapeno, cilantro, and stir to combine just before serving.
Cook Notes
If you don't have garlic salt, combine garlic powder and salt to taste.
There is such a thing as too much onion in guacamole. I often use up to 1/2 onion and save the remainder in the fridge for later use. The bonus is that a peeled onion stored in the fridge will lose some of it's potency, which helps for using it raw or as a garnish on something else.
